Modeling of Heavy-Oil Flow with Regard to Their Rheological Properties

With the depletion of traditional energy resources, share heavy-oil production has been increasing recently. According to some estimates, their reserves account for 80% world’s oil resources. Costs extraction heavy and natural bitumen are 3–4 times higher than costs extracting light oil, which is due not only density viscosity indicators but also insufficient development equipment technologies extraction, transportation, processing such oils. Currently, a single pipeline system used pump both oil. Therefore, it necessary take into features pumping mode. This paper presents mathematical models flow in oil-field pipelines. The rheological properties several samples were determined by experiments. dependencies obtained as input data simulation model using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. modeling condition investigates range shear rates up 300 s?1.
